I’m Emma.

I’m an Argentinian, now Boulder-based, designer by trade, and seeker by essence {and purveyor of kitchen utensils for my family and dearest friends}.

I was born in Buenos Aires. I grew up with two sisters, in a home permeated by the importance of culture, education, and the development of tailor-made creativity to face life’s challenges.

After obtaining my degree in Industrial Design and working as an in-house designer, I moved to Europe to explore as many factories, exhibitions, conferences, and design events as possible. I lived, worked, and studied in London, Milan, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Munich until love and my concern for climate change brought me to the US. I am married to an Italian engineer devoted to Wind Energy research, and I am the mum of a 1/2 cup Argentinian, 1/2 cup Italian, and 1 tbsp American daughter.

When I moved to Boulder, I founded ESIDE⋮ Design Hub because I wanted to work in a creative environment surrounded by people that inspired me. I wanted a platform from which I could collaborate with projects that focus on helping people solve their problems and by doing so, I would learn things I never knew I never knew.

Today, ESIDE⋮ works with those who are imagining a self, a product, or a business that doesn’t yet exist and who thrill to its potential. It’s a collection of creative, strategic, intentional, interactive actions that can move those imaginings closer to reality.

Before launching ESIDE, I had eye-opening opportunities that shaped me as a designer and human. While living in Germany I worked at the Italian firm EATALY, on everything from the ideation, development, and delivery of visual concepts, to the communication of products, and user interfaces. Before that, I dedicated long hours walking through LAFONT’s cast iron factory, optimizing product development and manufacturing processes, and learning all there is to know about the cast iron consumer industry. In what seems like a past life, I worked as a junior designer in the so-called "PYMES" (small companies) in Argentina, where I learned to wear as many hats as necessary, and I was also a support teacher in Morphology at the University of Buenos Aires, one of the most treasured experiences of my professional life.
